Job duties

• Repair body and paint damage to vehicles and equipment.
• Serve as an advanced-level worker performing the most complex body/paint repairs on vehicles, equipment, parts, and metal fabrications.
• Remove and replace upholstery, electrical accessories, glass, latches, hinges, lights and accessories.
• Remove and install external safety lights, grill guards, running boards, toolboxes to vehicles and equipment.
• Mix paint, reducer, and hardener ratios, and paint matching according to paint manufacturer recommendations in relation to body condition, temperature and humidity.
• May perform light mechanic work to assist shop mechanics or to complete assignments.
• Operate a state-owned vehicle.
• Work in extreme weather conditions such as rain, cold, or heat.
• Submit to random drug testing as required.

Minimum qualifications

• Two years of experience or training in automotive/ equipment body repair.

Position-specific details

• Valid driver's license at time of appointment.
• Operate a state owned vehicle.
• Work in extreme weather conditions such as rain, cold, or heat.
• Submit to random drug testing as required.

This position may be filled as a Job Appointment, Promotional or Probationary Appointment requiring 12-24 months on probation.

Work schedule

Work schedule and hours may vary. The incumbent may be required to work nights, weekends, or holidays as needed.

Compensation

Salary is dependent upon qualifications. Below is the starting hourly rate for this position. Starting salary is $22.52/hourly.
