Transdev in Knoxville, TN is seeking an experienced B-Level Mechanic to diagnose, repair, and maintain a variety of engines across vehicles and equipment, ensuring safety, efficiency, and longevity.
About the role
As a Maintenance Technician B, you will conduct diagnostic tests, perform repairs, assist A-Level Mechanics, execute routine maintenance, and mentor junior technicians. This role involves both indoor and outdoor work environments and may require flexible schedules or shifts.
Responsibilities
- Conduct diagnostic tests using advanced tools and software to troubleshoot engine issues.
- Perform moderate complexity repairs and replacements on engine components to ensure optimal functionality.
- Assist A-Level Mechanics in advanced diagnostic and repair tasks, contributing to efficient workflow.
- Execute routine maintenance tasks to prevent breakdowns and optimize engine performance.
- Lead diagnostic tests to accurately identify complex issues and determine comprehensive repair strategies for engines.
- Perform advanced troubleshooting and repair tasks on engines, including overhauling and rebuilding components to required specifications.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior technicians, assisting them in developing their skills and knowledge.
- Other duties as required.
Requirements
- 1-3 years of experience as a Mechanic.
- ASE certifications required (company provides ASE certification program).
- Mechanic’s Tool Set.
- Subject to DOT drug testing and physical, if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 prohibits the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason.
- Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.
- Eligible to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.
- Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen.

- Long periods spent sitting, typing, or looking at a computer screen.
- Work environment includes both indoor and outdoor settings.

Pay
Competitive compensation package ranging from $23.00/hr to $28.50/hr.
