About the role

Maintenance Technician B Transdev in Chula Vista, CA is seeking an experienced B-Level Mechanic to bolster our team. This role demands expertise in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines across various vehicles and equipment. As a Mechanic, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring safety, efficiency, and longevity for our vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Conduct diagnostic tests using advanced tools and software to troubleshoot engine issues.
• Perform moderate complexity repairs and replacements on engine components, ensuring optimal functionality.
• Assist A-Level Mechanics in advanced diagnostic and repair tasks, contributing to efficient workflow.
• Execute routine maintenance tasks to prevent breakdowns and optimize engine performance.
• Lead diagnostic tests to accurately identify complex issues and determine comprehensive repair strategies for engines.
• Perform advanced troubleshooting and repair tasks on diesel engines, including overhauling and rebuilding components to required specifications.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior technicians, assisting them in developing their skills and knowledge.
• Other duties as required.

Qualifications

• 3-4 years of experience in the repair and maintenance of all types of heavy-duty transit equipment preferred.
• ASE certifications preferred, Three H or T series ASE certifications preferred, of which two must include H2, T2, T4 or H4.
• Additionally, optimally, will possess 609 and 608 air conditioning certificates.
• Must be able to obtain a Commercial Driving License with Passenger and Airbrake endorsements.
