Mechanic
Position Overview
Under the direction of the Facilities and Grounds Manager and/or his/her designee, the Mechanic will be responsible for the repairs and maintenance of the College’s campus vehicles and equipment. The Mechanic will work closely with the Grounds Manager and Facilities staff to effectively meet the College's physical needs and support its overall mission.
Position Responsibilities
- Provide safe, operational equipment for all staff to use
- Develop preventative maintenance schedules for all equipment and perform maintenance as needed
- Perform repairs needed on all equipment
- Maintain a clean and tidy garage
- Record all maintenance records for equipment
- A reasonable amount of overtime is required, especially around major campus and weather events
- Assist with snow removal during the winter
- All other duties as assigned
Position Qualifications
- Knowledge of vehicle repairs, small engine repairs, and hydraulic systems
- Able to work well and communicate with others
- Able to use tools safely and efficiently
- A high school diploma is required
- An Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree is preferred
Licensing/Experience Requirements
- OSHA 10-Hour Course
- 5 years of mechanic experience is required. ASE certified is preferred
- A valid driver’s license is required
- Hoisting License or CDL is preferred

Work Location
This is an on-campus position as employees are essential in order to provide a fully on-campus, residential college experience for our students and the community. This position is subject to the successful completion of a criminal background check.
