About the role

Employee will become an integral member of the maintenance crew working under the direction of the Maintenance Shop Foreman. Employee will be responsible for maintaining and promoting professionalism; and for inspection, maintenance and repair of all equipment utilized by the Eddy County Road Department, Vector Control, Sign Department, and Environmental Services Department.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and promote professionalism
  • Inspect, maintain and repair all equipment utilized by the Eddy County Road Department, Vector Control, Sign Department, and Environmental Services Department
  • Minimum two years’ experience in the service and maintenance of light, medium, and heavy-duty equipment, both gasoline and diesel
  • Read accurately all gauges on tools and equipment and make correct judgments in the operation of equipment
  • Read and understand maintenance manuals, publications, work orders, blueprints, and schematics
  • Document inspections and repairs performed
  • Acquire the necessary parts, equipment, and tools to perform assigned tasks
  • Maintain a safe and clean work area
  • Fabricate various tools, equipment, parts, and materials
  • Continuing knowledge of maintenance and repair procedures, and the safe operation of all tools and equipment
  • Prepare daily activity reports and equipment records
  • Perform duties in an individual or crew environment, in the shop or field
  • Work irregular hours, overtime, attend job-related meetings, in and out of state, and perform other duties as assigned
