Mechanic A - HVAC

Responsibilities

• Schedule repairs and maintenance around campus facility occupancy with emphasis on safety and code compliance.
• Maintain inventory and source materials including tools and equipment.
• Perform general and specialized building repair maintenance and operations tasks, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, events setups, snow removal, and other tasks as assigned.
• Work independently and solve problems.
• Order and inventory materials.
• Communicate effectively using commercial/educational building maintenance processes, including record keeping, inventory, sourcing, blueprint reading, and computer skills.
• Manage workflow and estimate work hours required for assigned tasks.
• Repair, maintain, and operate typical HVAC systems, specifically including steam heat exchanger, hot water boilers and circulators, cooling towers, and DDC controls systems.
• Work unsupervised on assigned tasks.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years’ experience in the field of trade.
• High School Diploma or equivalent and/or trade school certification.
• Current HVAC refrigeration license.
• Computer literacy.
• Valid NYS driver license.
