Meat Wrapper

Responsibilities

• Inspects and reassembles equipment, sanitizes the previous night's work.
• Reworks display case to assess daily production needs and rotate product.
• Bring cases of meat from cooler and empty contents onto meat cutting or other preparation area.
• Operate tenderizing machine, meat slicer, and labeler according to product type and price.
• Set labeler, print, and apply labels to product, then stock display cases by moving racks to floor.
• Follow safety and security procedures, operate meat grinder, check fat content of each batch, and follow proper production procedures.
• Stock meat case according to Meat PIC’s plan for product presentation and merchandising.
• Clean and sanitize area throughout the day, perform routine maintenance, and ensure compliance with health codes and temperature standards.
• Provide and ensure prompt and courteous customer service, assist with front-end duties, and assist in other departments as necessary.
• Operate various machinery and equipment including manual pallet jack, wheeled carts, trash compactor, cardboard baler, product marking gun, shrink wrap machine, wrench, screwdriver, pliers, box knife, trim knife, tenderizer, grinder, slicer, wrapping machine, pressure washer, cash register, handheld scanners, computer, fax machine, phone, and printer.
• Perform other functions as necessary or assigned.

Requirements

• A High School Diploma or GED is preferred.
• Food Handling Certification as required by local government.

Pay

Starting at $16.00 - $17.00/hr (DOE)

Schedule

Part-time, Full-time, Evening, Weekends and Holidays are required.

• LOCATION: In person
• Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Working Environment

• Work is performed in a store setting with ability to speak and receive phone communications often.
• Work requires computer usage with strength, dexterity, coordination, and visual acuity to use keyboard and video display terminal and other office equipment.
• Continuously standing, walking, reaching at/below shoulders, frequently lift/carry up to 10 pounds below waist, up to 100 pounds at waist/chest, and occasional lifting of up to 75 pounds above shoulders.
