Meat Service Clerk
About the role
Jerry’s is seeking a part-time union employee to join our team. This position reports to the Meat and Seafood Manager.
Responsibilities
- Make lasting connections with our customers
- Fill and rotate cases and displays (may involve some heavy lifting up to 50 lbs.)
- Assist with merchandising and receiving products to keep our shelves full
- Help maintain a clean and sanitary store
- Work with the team on all tasks necessary to have an awesome department
- Be a part of a dedicated team that enjoys their job, arrives promptly for shifts, and works as scheduled
Requirements
- Willingness to work various hours from Sunday to Saturday
- Experience working in a meat department is preferred
- Knowledge of burger patties, meatloaf tins, and kabobs is beneficial (you may need to handle pork)
- Motivation to grow your career and continue learning

Pay and Benefits
The rate of pay is a progressive scale up to $17.25 / hour, based on experience. Store discounts, employee assistance programs, and flexible schedules are available.
Qualifications
Physical requirements include frequent lifting/carrying up to 100 lbs., pushing over 2200 force lbs., walking, reaching, standing, stooping/bending, squatting, turning, equipment operation (meat saw, meat slicer, scale, racks, knives, meat grinder, cuber, bulker, meat mixer, pattymachine, tenderizer, pressure washer, telephone, paging system), mental requirements including judgment/decision making, social skills/verbal interaction, memorization, reading, writing, math, and environmental requirements including exposure to cold temperatures and wet surfaces. Occasional physical requirements include equipment operation (forklift), pallet jack, flatbed.
