Meat Service Clerk
About the role
Jerry’s Foods Woodbury is seeking a part-time union employee to join our team. This position reports to the Meat and Seafood Manager.
Responsibilities
- Make lasting connections with our customers
- Fill and rotate cases and displays (may involve some heavy lifting up to 50 lbs.)
- Assist with merchandising and receiving products to keep our shelves full
- Help maintain a clean and sanitary store
- Work with the team on all tasks necessary to have an awesome department
- Be a part of a dedicated team that enjoys their job, arrives promptly for shifts, and works as scheduled
Requirements
- Willingness to be friendly and outgoing, promoting customer service for the entire team
- Experience working in a meat department
- Knowledge of burger patties, meatloaf tins, and kabobs (you may have to handle pork)
- Motivation to grow their career and continue learning

Pay
Progressive scale up to $17.25 / hour, based on experience.
Schedule
Sunday – Saturday, varied hours.
Qualifications
- Must be able to lift/carry up to 100 lbs. and push over 2200 force lbs.
- Must be able to walk, reach, stand, stoop/bend, squat, turn, operate equipment such as meat saw, meat slicer, scale, racks, knives, meat grinder, cuber, bulker, meat mixer, pattymachine, tenderizer, pressure washer, telephone, paging system, and perform occasional equipment operation (forklift), pallet jack, flatbed
- Must be able to judge/decide, show social skills, interact verbally, memorize, read, write, and do math
- Must be able to work in cold temperatures and on wet surfaces
