MEAT PROCESSING FAB PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR 1ST SHIFT

Description

DESCRIPTION: Supervisor for the 1st shift fabrication department.

Qualifications

• Minimum High School diploma or GED equivalent
• Minimum 1-2 years’ background experience in packing house (beef preferred)
• To learn about the various products that are produced
• Knowledge of products and their specifications is essential
• Communication skills
• Able to motivate workers
• Bilingual important, but not mandatory as long as translators are available in the area

Responsibilities

• Responsible for overseeing a group of employees within a safe and professional setting
• Insure proper communication and feedback between their team and upper management
• Guiding their team through daily tasks and monitoring their performance to ensure maximum productivity
• Responsible for meeting product specifications, quality, yields, and following the production schedule
• Work with trainers with onboarding of new hires to make sure they understand their roles
• Insure area is properly staffed according to departments crewing standards to meet production needs
• Keep up with all weekly meetings, monthly safety meetings, and all yearly trainings required by JBS for their team
• Job performance will be measured by the Superintendents and General Foreman based on KPI’s
• Understand and adhere to all company and union regulations in regard to hourly employees
• Attend daily supervisor meetings
• Responsible for completing all audits, safety/PPE checks, and touch and goes as required by JBS
• Directly responsible for discipline procedures with hourly employees on the line. These may range from verbal warnings to terminations
