DESCRIPTION: Supervisor for the 1st shift fabrication department.
Qualifications
- Minimum High School diploma or GED equivalent
- Minimum 1-2 years’ background experience in packing house (beef preferred)
- To learn about the various products that are produced
- Knowledge of products and their specifications is essential
- Communication skills
- Able to motivate workers
- Bilingual important, but not mandatory as long as translators are available in the area
Responsibilities
- Responsible for overseeing a group of employees within a safe and professional setting
- Insure proper communication and feedback between their team and upper management
- Guiding their team through daily tasks and monitoring their performance to ensure maximum productivity
- Responsible for meeting product specifications, quality, yields, and following the production schedule
- Work with trainers with onboarding of new hires to make sure they understand their roles
- Insure area is properly staffed according to departments crewing standards to meet production needs
- Keep up with all weekly meetings, monthly safety meetings, and all yearly trainings required by JBS for their team
- Job performance will be measured by the Superintendents and General Foreman based on KPI’s
- Understand and adhere to all company and union regulations in regard to hourly employees
- Attend daily supervisor meetings
- Responsible for completing all audits, safety/PPE checks, and touch and goes as required by JBS
- Directly responsible for discipline procedures with hourly employees on the line. These may range from verbal warnings to terminations
