MEAT/MEAT CUTTER

Responsibilities

• Cut, grind, slice, prepare, process, trim, tenderize, seal, package, wrap, price, prefabricate, date, label, scale, merchandise, sell, serve customers.
• Handle stressful situations and make a positive impression on associates and customers.
• Unload trucks, sort orders, place in proper cooler location, wash and sanitize equipment.
• Communicate effectively with customers and fellow associates.
• Provide good customer and associate relations.
• Unload trucks, sort orders, place in proper cooler location, wash and sanitize equipment in accordance with company and health department policies and procedures.
• Wait on customers and counter promptly and cheerfully; greet customers and provide them with good quality foods.
• Manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational and cooperative manner.
• Adhere to company policies and procedures, particularly in the area of maintenance of a work environment free of unlawful harassment or discrimination.

Qualifications

• Willing to work weekends and holidays.
• Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to employment practices, safety, and food handling.
• Meat work experience or similar experience in food preparation.
• Past work record reflects dependability and integrity.
• Effective written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to read shelf tags, signs, and product labels.
• Ability to work with various cleaning solutions, safely use sharp tools, and operate certain equipment.
• Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational and cooperative manner.
• Ability to act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
• Ability to follow directions and seek assistance when necessary to resolve customer and business issues.
