Responsibilities
- Cut, grind, slice, prepare, process, trim, tenderize, seal, package, wrap, bag, price, prefabricate, date, label, scale, merchandise, sell, serve customers
- Unload trucks, sort orders, place in proper cooler location
- Wash and sanitize equipment
- Communicate with customers and fellow associates
- Sort and display meat items
- Keep sales areas, backrooms, coolers clean and organized
- Stock and organize carts, tools, and supplies
- Keep floors clean and free from clutter
- Monitor and update department temperature logs
- Check product quality and ensure proper rotation and freshness
- Provide customer service and maintain good relations
- Wait on customers promptly and cheerfully
- Increase store sales and profits
Requirements
- Willing to work weekends and holidays
- Effective written and oral communication skills
- Ability to read and understand shelf tags, signs, and product labels
- Knowledge of cleaning solutions and safe use of sharp tools and equipment
- Team player with ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Handle stressful situations calmly and positively
- Desired meat work experience or similar food preparation experience
- Past work record reflecting dependability and integrity
- Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to employment practices, safety, and food handling
