Responsibilities
- Perform general clean-up and stock work in the Meat department.
- Provide customer service.
- Work weekends and holidays.
- Communicate effectively with customers and colleagues.
- Read and understand shelf tags, signs, product labels, training materials, and bulletins.
- Multi-task, set priorities, and present information professionally.
- Work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Use various cleaning solutions, sharp tools, and operate production equipment safely.
- Unload and store merchandise, prepare and display foods according to company standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of sales areas, backrooms, and coolers.
- Wash and sanitize cookware and utensils according to company and health department policies.
- Maintain proper signage, product rotation, freshness, quantity, quality, and space allocation for merchandise.
- Maintain equipment and facilities according to company policies and procedures.
- Operate cash register in accordance with company procedures.
- Manage conflict in a reasonable, non-confrontational, and cooperative manner.
- Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
- Follow directions and seek assistance when necessary to resolve customer and business issues.
Qualifications
- Past work record reflecting dependability and integrity.
- Previous experience in food preparation.
- Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to employment practices, safety, and food handling.
- Experience in grocery retail and customer service.
- Ability to communicate with customers and colleagues.
- Ability to work in a high-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
- Ability to manage conflict in a reasonable, non-confrontational, and cooperative manner.
- Ability to act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
- Ability to follow directions and seek assistance when necessary to resolve customer and business issues.
