Meat Department Manager

Position Overview

Lead daily department operations in a retail store, ensuring staff training, proper staffing, and adherence to company standards to meet performance goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage inventory ordering and maintenance, verify received products, oversee stocking and quality control, and ensure compliance with food safety and safety guidelines.
• Develop work schedules, control labor and payroll expenses, and implement company policies using relevant tools and software.
• Lead team performance, staffing, training, and career development; set and monitor departmental goals and forecasts.
• Maintain a clean, attractive, well-stocked environment, and ensure adherence to health, safety, and cleanliness standards.
• Participate in meetings, communicate plans, and execute weekly flight plans and promotional activities.

Qualifications & Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent; retail experience preferred; supervisory experience a plus.
• Strong communication, organization, leadership, strategic planning, and retail management system knowledge required.
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint; bilingual skills (English/Spanish) desirable depending on location.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds regularly and 50 pounds occasionally; stand, walk, bend, and twist for extended periods; work in varied temperatures and outdoor conditions.
