Meat Department Manager

About the role

Lead daily department operations in a retail store, ensuring staff training, full staffing, and adherence to company standards to meet performance goals.

Responsibilities

• Manage inventory ordering, maintenance, and control procedures to ensure product quality and freshness.
• Oversee order validation, storage, and handling of damaged products, maintaining product knowledge and store promotions.
• Ensure cleanliness, attractive displays, and compliance with food safety and safety guidelines.
• Develop and execute plans to achieve company goals, monitor department performance, and participate in meetings.
• Supervise staffing, training, performance management, and career development of associates.
• Implement scheduling, labor, and payroll controls, and foster a customer-focused environment following core values.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; retail experience and supervisory skills preferred.
• Strong communication, organization, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.
• Leadership skills with hands-on approach; strategic planning and business acumen.
• Knowledge of retail operations, systems, and proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint; bilingual skills desirable depending on location.
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally, standing and walking for extended periods, with exposure to varied temperatures and environment noise.
