Meat Cutter

Responsibilities

• Consistently demonstrate the Woods Supermarket D&E service and Hospitality 4 guidelines.
• Awareness of inventory/stocking conditions and reporting any discrepancies.
• Identify and weigh various cuts of meat.
• Wrap and package products in a clean, neat, and attractive manner.
• Assist guests at the counter or on the sales floor.
• Breakdown, cut, and trim all meat products.
• Notify management of guest or teammate accidents or injuries.
• Report all safety risks and illegal activity, including robbery, theft, or fraud.
• Perform other miscellaneous tasks assigned by managers.

Qualifications

• Ability to interpret and apply company policies and procedures.
• Good interpersonal communication skills.
• Basic mathematical ability.
• Must be 18 years of age or older to be employed for this role at Woods Supermarket.
• Prior management experience is preferred but not required.
• Experience working in department specific areas is preferred but not required.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.

Physical Demands

• All teammates may be regularly required to perform the following motions: Sit, Stand, Stoop, Squat, Bend, Reach, Push, Pull, Grip, Twist, Lift, Carry, Walk, and Kneel.
• The teammate must be able to perform the above motions “frequently” and “occasionally” under the strength level highlighted on the positions job description/physical capacity release form.

Work Environment

• Inside work with extreme variations in temperature, dust, and humidity from back door, compressors, cooler, freezer, and preparation area.
• Sometimes requires some outside work.

Classification

• Sedentary: 10lbs
• Light: 20lbs
• Medium: 20lbs-50lbs
• Heavy: 50lbs-100lbs
• Very Heavy: 100lbs+

Teammate Age Requirement

• Teammates age 18 and older may be required to safely handle and operate the following: Case cutter, Utility knife, Forklift (with proper certification), Pallet jack, Compact Baler, Slicer, Oven, Fryer, Knives, Mixers, and Safety equipment.

Employment Requirements

• The teammate will not use or be under the influence of illegal drugs, alcohol, or other impairing substances on the job.
• The teammate will not create a direct threat to the health and safety of others on the job.
