About the Role

Cuts and trims raw meat for sale using saws, knives, grinder, and tenderizer while providing a high level of member service.

Responsibilities

• Cuts and trims meat to Costco specification using band saw and knives.
• Operates tenderizing machine and meat grinder, checking fat content of each batch.
• Transfers cut and ground meat to styrofoam trays and loads them onto wheeled racks for wrappers.
• Assists with wrapping tasks, including re-wrapping fish.
• Stocks meat display case according to Meat Manager’s plan for product presentation and merchandising.
• Transports cases of meat (up to 99 lbs) from cooler to preparation area and restocks meat room supplies.
• Inspects and reassembles sanitized equipment, reworks display case to assess daily production needs, and rotates product.
• Follows proper department production procedures and standards for quality and consistency.
• Cleans and sanitizes the area throughout the day to comply with health code, including sanitation standards and temperature maintenance.
• Performs routine maintenance for machinery, equipment, and implements.
• Provides prompt and courteous member service.
• Ensures proper cleanup and disposal of hazardous materials.
• Operates vehicles, equipment, or machinery as required.
• Assists with department duties and in other warehouse departments as necessary.
