About the role

Under direct supervision, the Meat Cutter breaks, cuts, and prepares meat products, using hand tools and power equipment, in the variety, size, quantity, and trim prescribed by company standards. Meat products are prepared for display or as ordered by customers. Works with customers to take special orders. Works with Meat Clerks and Meat Manager to determine which items need to be cut.

Responsibilities

• Determines which items need to be cut with Meat Clerks and Meat Manager.
• Performs very heavy lifting, bending, standing, stooping, walking, and kneeling.

Requirements

• Must be able to perform very heavy lifting, bending, standing, walking, and kneeling for prolonged periods.
• Works in a fast-paced grocery store environment.
• Must have a Food Handler Card or its equivalent certification.

Qualifications

• Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and manual labor.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Knowledge of meat cutting techniques and safety procedures.

Skills

• Strong attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
