Meat Clerk

Responsibilities

• Wait on customers and counter promptly and cheerfully.
• Greet customers and provide them with good quality food.
• Communicate with customers and associates in a prompt, tactful, calm, courteous, and professional manner.
• Unload and store merchandise, prepare and display foods according to company standards, recipes, and policies.
• Perform required temperature monitoring.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of sales areas, backrooms, and coolers.
• Wash and sanitize cookware and utensils according to company and health department policies and procedures.
• Maintain proper signage, product rotation, freshness, quantity, quality, and space allocation for merchandise.
• Maintain equipment and facilities in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Operate cash register in accordance with company procedures, as applicable.
• Work cooperatively in high-paced and sometimes stressful environments.
• Manage conflict in a reasonable, non-confrontational, and cooperative manner.
• Avoid compromising honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
• Follow directions and seek assistance when necessary to resolve customer and business issues.
• Provide support and assistance through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and/or older adults.

Qualifications

• Minimum Willingness to work weekends and holidays.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills engaging customers and associates.
• Ability to read and understand shelf tags, signs, product labels, training materials, and bulletins.
• Ability to multi-task, set priorities, present information professionally, and work with all levels of the organization.
• Personal initiative and follow-through to completion.
• Teamwork and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of cleaning solutions and ability to safely use sharp tools and operate production equipment.
• Past work record reflecting dependability and integrity.
• Previous experience in food preparation.
• Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to employment practices, safety, and food handling.
• Experience in grocery retail and customer service.
