Measurement Technician (Flooring Estimator) - Subcontractor

About the role

This is a 1099 contract position as a Measurement Technician (flooring estimator). You will travel to job sites, meet customers, and help them meet their flooring needs. The role is not remote.

Responsibilities

• Listen to the customer’s needs and expectations
• Create detailed digital floor diagrams
• Inspect the job site to determine the need for products in the flooring installation process
• Take before photographs
• Make detailed notes for the quoting process
• Travel frequently for an hour or more one way to job sites (no more than two per day)

Requirements

• Active listening skills
• Friendly, customer-oriented, and professional demeanor
• Math proficiency
• Detail-oriented
• Valid driver’s license with personal vehicle insurance
• Reliable transportation
• Smartphone (no flip phones) and basic computer/tablet skills
• Able to pass a background check
• Availability to see customers in their homes Monday – Friday 8 am to 5 pm, with evenings and weekend availability

Construction experience preferred (flooring knowledge a bonus).
