Measurement Technician (Flooring Estimator) - Subcontractor

About the role

Contract Description Measurement Technician (flooring estimator) – 1099 contract position, not remote. Travel required to customer sites (up to one‑hour each way, max two hours). Assignments provided, tablet supplied with two weeks of training. Paid per measure, weekly.

Responsibilities

• Listen to the customer’s needs and expectations
• Create detailed digital floor diagrams
• Inspect the job site to determine the need for products in the flooring installation process
• Take before photographs
• Make detailed notes for the quoting process

Requirements

• Active listening skills
• Friendly, customer‑oriented, and professional
• Math proficiency
• Detail‑oriented
• Valid driver’s license with personal vehicle insurance and reliable transportation
• Smartphone (no flip phones) and basic computer/tablet skills
• Able to pass a background check
• Construction experience preferred; flooring knowledge a bonus
• Availability to see customers in their homes Monday‑Friday 8 am‑5 pm, with evenings and weekends also available
