About the role

The State of Mississippi seeks to hire a Correctional Officer III to join the ranks of dedicated professionals committed to maintaining a safe and secure environment.

Responsibilities

  • Enforce rules and regulations within the facility.
  • Monitor inmates for compliance with rules and regulations.
  • Provide supervision and guidance to inmates.
  • Ensure the safety and security of staff and inmates.
  • Handle emergencies and incidents as required.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must have successfully completed the training program at the Mississippi Department of Corrections or the equivalent within another state, as approved by the Mississippi Department of Corrections.
  • No experience required.
