About the role

The State of Mississippi seeks to hire a Correctional Officer I to join the team at MCIW.

Responsibilities

• Provide security and supervision in a correctional facility environment.
• Enforce rules and regulations.
• Monitor inmate activities and ensure compliance with policies.
• Assist with incident response and emergency situations.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of staff and inmates.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
• Completion of the training program at the Mississippi Department of Corrections or the equivalent within another state, as approved by the Mississippi Department of Corrections.
• Employees under the age of twenty-one (21) shall be assigned to non-peace officer status posts.
