Responsibilities

  • Work with inmates and staff to maintain a safe and secure environment.
  • Perform routine and emergency duties as assigned.
  • Assist with inmate programs and activities.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development.
  • Support rehabilitation efforts and promote positive change among inmates.

Requirements

  • Ability to work overtime as required.
  • Ability to work weekends and holidays.
  • Successful completion of annual mandatory training requirements.
  • Adequate physical condition to perform essential functions.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Two (2) years or more full-time work experience.
  • One (1) year or more of college level course work.

  • Physical stamina and strength.

$2,000 Annual Training Pay

Schedule and Work-Life Balance

2-2-3 Schedule: Work 7 out of every 14 days, enjoy a three-day weekend every other week, and approximately 180 workdays per year. Shifts are assigned based on seniority and facility operational needs.

Environmental Factors

Duties are performed largely within a correctional facility and in the immediate area of inmates. High stress situations are predictable, even frequent. Potential for physical assault or injury is present. Overtime and emergency duty are unpredictable. Shift assignments may change in accordance with facility needs.
