About the role
Drills holes in decks, hulls, liners, fenders, seats, and small parts. Grinds away excess fiberglass so that parts fit together during assembly. Grinds lip off all liners. Transports finished parts to rigging.
Responsibilities
- Drills holes in decks, hulls and liners so that boats can be rigged.
- Cuts excess fiberglass away so that all parts fit together when boats are rigged.
- Checks to see if deck and hull fit.
- Transports hulls to rigging for assembly (Glass I); transports parts to QA (Glass II).
- Performs related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Previous grinding experience preferred.
- Must be able to read and understand instructions.
- Must be able to use various hand tools, including grinder, drill and saw.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, with or without accommodation.
- Must have effective eyesight.
- Able to perform normal duties including reaching, bending, kneeling, stooping, and crouching.
- Will be required to wear personal protective equipment, including helmet, respirator, hearing protection and grinding suit.
Skills
- Language skills: Able to understand spoken instructions regarding job training and safety concerns and speak conversational English.
- Reasoning skills: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed finishing of all products and deal with changes related to equipment use and productivity.
