Mathematics Expert (Masters/PhDs)

About the Role

What if your years of mathematical training could directly shape how AI reasons through the hardest problems in the world? We're looking for Mathematics Experts — Masters and PhD holders — to help build the next generation of AI by crafting, solving, and evaluating advanced mathematical content. This is a fully remote, flexible contract role designed for serious mathematicians who want meaningful, intellectually stimulating work on their own schedule. Your expertise in algebra, calculus, statistics, discrete mathematics, or related fields will directly influence how AI models think, reason, and solve complex problems.

Commitment: 10–40 hours/week

Responsibilities

• Develop, solve, and critically review advanced mathematical problems with real-world relevance
• Apply deep expertise in algebra, calculus, statistics, discrete mathematics, or related areas to design rigorous, complex problem statements
• Evaluate AI-generated mathematical reasoning for accuracy, depth, and logical soundness
• Collaborate asynchronously with AI researchers and domain experts to enhance model performance
• Ensure mathematical rigor, clarity, and precision across all deliverables
• Work independently on task-based assignments — fully on your own schedule

Requirements

• Hold a Master's or PhD in Mathematics or a closely related field
• Deeply skilled in one or more of: algebra, calculus, statistics, or discrete mathematics
• Experienced coding in Python, MATLAB, or Mathematica for research or technical projects
• Exceptionally detail-oriented — you notice when a proof is incomplete or a solution is imprecise
• A clear, confident written communicator who can explain complex ideas with precision
• Fluent in English

Nice to Have

• Prior experience with data annotation, data quality, or AI evaluation workflows
• Background in academic research, teaching, or applied mathematics
• Familiarity with AI tools or mathematical reasoning benchmarks
• Experience reviewing or editing mathematical content for publication
