Math Specialist Grades 5-8 Long Term Sub - Holy Rosary, Seattle
Holy Rosary School, a dynamic STEM-focused Catholic school in West Seattle serving preschool through 8th grade, seeks a leave replacement math specialist to join our faculty of committed, faith-filled, and collaborative educators. The position begins in late October or early November 2026 and is expected to continue into the spring or later in the school year.
About the Role
We are looking for an educator who is passionate about Catholic education and understands the developmental needs of elementary students. The ideal candidate will integrate STEM principles and project-based learning into mathematics instruction while fostering a faith-centered environment.
Responsibilities
- Deliver math instruction aligned with Common Core Standards and curriculum mapping
- Use formative and summative assessments to drive instruction and ensure high student achievement
- Implement successful differentiation techniques to meet the needs of all learners
- Communicate effectively and proactively with staff, students, and parents
- Maintain strong classroom management in a creative, engaging, and dynamic learning environment
Requirements
- Possess or be eligible for a Washington State Teaching Certificate
- Fully vaccinated and willing to teach students in person
- Demonstrated knowledge of STEM principles and project-based learning
- Commitment to Catholic education and its mission
Pay
The daily rate for this long-term substitute position is $275–$325, determined based on internal equity, market data, applicant skills, prior relevant experience, degrees, and certifications. This position is not eligible for benefits.
