Math Content Coach

About the role

MGT is seeking an experienced education professional to provide coaching and leadership in mathematics as the Math Content Coach on the MGT Turnaround team in Tampa, Florida.

Responsibilities

• Develop a deep understanding of standards, district expectations, school-site priorities, and student performance trends to support improved mathematics outcomes.
• Analyze state standards, assessment data, and instructional practices to identify opportunities for improved student outcomes.
• Facilitate the design and implementation of scaffolded, standards-aligned instruction across classrooms and schools.
• Lead analysis of data and use of data to drive targeted instruction in content area.
• Model high-impact instructional strategies and demonstrate effective classroom practices aligned to district initiatives.
• Provide research-based resources, tools, and strategies that support engaging, and rigorous classroom instruction.
• Coach teachers, instructional leaders, and school-based teams through observation, feedback, goal setting, and continuous improvement processes.
• Develop and guide teachers in the development of instructional plans, pacing of lessons and differentiated instruction utilizing effective coaching strategies.
• Develop and lead professional development for teachers and staff.
• Complete weekly and monthly summaries of work.
• Contribute to the continuing development of products and processes to support the work.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in education or a related field required; advanced degree preferred.
• Mathematics endorsement, specialization, or demonstrated expertise in elementary mathematics instruction.
• Strong understanding and proven instructional experience in Math subject area in elementary.
• Five (5) or more years of professional experience coaching teachers, coaches, or leading adults.

Qualifications

• Excellent listening, observation, verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to identify and implement strategies to improve individual and group productivity and content mastery.
• Ability to travel 4-5 days a week to client and/or school-sites within Hillsborough County and the Greater Tampa Bay Area, Florida (on-site).

Skills

• Strong understanding and proven instructional experience in Math subject area in elementary.
• Ability to identify and implement strategies to improve individual and group productivity and content mastery.
• Ability to travel 4-5 days a week to client and/or school-sites within Hillsborough County and the Greater Tampa Bay Area, Florida (on-site).
