About the role
This position provides comprehensive support and tracking for math students from placement through completion of college-level math. Responsibilities include case management, facilitating seminars, monitoring student performance, and collaborating with faculty and other departments.
Responsibilities
- Provides case management support from point of placement through completion of college-level math
- Facilitates non-credit seminars and/or small group support for math remediation
- Makes regular checks on student performance using various tools including online adaptive learning software, tutoring databases, and other college systems
- Coordinates with Enrollment Management team for college-wide case management, outreach, and student progress tracking
- Compiles data and presents reports on student progress
- Recommends and refines processes to support students in math remediation
- Sets up student accounts to access online tools and guides them through online resources
- Collaborates with math faculty to support students within and outside the traditional and non-traditional classroom
- Collaborates with deans, Student Affairs, Campus Success Specialists, and Counseling faculty to provide individualized support and services to math students
- Plans and implements new targeted strategies for math students
- May facilitate workshops in multiple formats and modes
- Collaborates with Student and Academic Affairs colleagues to streamline and deliver pre-enrollment placement testing and related processes
- Supports the Assistant Dean/Director in managing math tutoring spaces
- Works collaboratively with student peer tutors/coaches
- Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- Minimum of three years of relevant professional experience
- Demonstrated decision-making skills
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Basic knowledge of fundamental Math coaching concepts
- Intermediate-level skills with Microsoft Office applications
- Confidentiality and discretion handling sensitive information
- Ability to develop and maintain relationships with key contacts
- Sensitivity to respond appropriately to the needs of students and the community
Qualifications
- Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in a related field, minimum of three years of relevant professional experience, and demonstrated decision-making skills.
- Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree in a related field, demonstrated college teaching experience and/or background in Math, experience using online learning systems, experience working at a community college, experience working with students in developmental Math, and experience working with students with learning disabilities or special education.
