Maternal Health Innovation Coordinator

About the role

The position carries out essential programming functions administered through the Bureau of Family Health, specifically related to maternal mortality and morbidity. As the project director for a federal grant, you will oversee, lead, and facilitate the State Maternal Health Task Force; monitor patterns and trends related to maternal and pregnancy-associated mortality and morbidity; and issue action alerts or bulletins in partnership with organizations. You will analyze findings and recommendations with key leadership to determine interventions and actions to prevent future occurrences and improve maternal health. Responsibilities include managing grants and contracts, identifying funding sources, and ensuring compliance with the Title V Maternal & Child Health (MCH) Block Grant and State Action Plan. Budgeting and reporting management will be handled with support from your supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Develop and monitor the maternal health strategic plan; address implementation challenges and develop solutions.
• Support partner organizations in aligning their work to the common agenda and shared plan.
• Identify statewide health concerns and coordinate activities of local health agencies with the state office.
• Analyze and make recommendations on policies, procedures, and legislation impacting health programs.
• Coordinate programs, services, and activities with internal and external partners to minimize redundancies and align strategies.
• Collaborate with agency, Bureau, and program contacts to develop, plan, and complete reporting, assessment, and analysis activities.
• Develop and maintain working relationships with state and community partners to stay current on key problems and emerging issues related to maternal health.
• Represent the agency and Bureau at health-related meetings and events.
• Actively participate on national, state, or local committees to align priorities and activities related to program plans.
• Create or manage the creation of summary reports of progress as assigned.
• Coordinate grant reporting to state and federal funders using required systems.
• Evaluate data as a basis for program modifications and develop recommendations based on reviews and analysis.
• Assist in periodic review of state, county, and community maternal health data to address priority health concerns.

Requirements

• Two years of experience in planning, organizing, and directing the work of community collaboratives, local government, community-based organizations, state departments, programs, or other agencies.
• Relevant education may be substituted for experience as determined by the agency.
• Valid Driver's License – required to operate a state vehicle, private vehicle, or rental vehicle for state business.

Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Public Health, Social Work, Nursing, Human Services, Psychology, Sociology, or a related field.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.
• Strong proofreading, editing, and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with data collection systems, including federal grant systems.
• Experience in community coordination, collaboration, and contract management.

Pay

Hourly Pay Range: $28.59 - $30.03. Salary may vary depending on education, experience, or qualifications.

Schedule

Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (Flexible schedules available). Full-time, regular position with benefits eligibility.
