Materials Technical Program Manager
About the role
The Materials Science experiment team at LILA Sciences is seeking a Technical Program Manager to oversee day-to-day operations and ensure that scientific programs are executed efficiently and effectively. This role requires a deep understanding of materials science and the ability to manage complex projects in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Maintain project plans and track milestones for day-to-day program execution
- Coordinate with platform partners (Automation, ML, Engineering) to align on priorities and resolve dependencies
- Translate scientific program goals into structured workstreams for efficient and scalable autonomous experimentation
- Run program rituals including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives
- Surface blockers, risks, and interdependencies early and drive them to resolution
- Support the delivery of commercial contracts by working with the Product & Revenue team
- Contribute to capacity planning and resource coordination in partnership with scientific leadership
Requirements
- 10+ years of program or project management experience in materials science, advanced manufacturing, or deep tech environments
- Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field
- Track record of managing multiple concurrent programs in fast-paced, ambiguous environments
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate across scientific and operational stakeholders
- Sufficient scientific fluency to understand Materials Science program goals
- Experience supporting commercial program delivery and working with external partners or customers
Qualifications
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Able to break complex goals into clear, achievable units of work and keep stakeholders informed
Skills
- Familiarity with project management tools such as Smartsheet, Asana, Jira, or similar
- PMP, PgMP, or agile certification (e.g., CSM, SAFe) is a plus

Expected Base Salary Range: $156,000 USD - $214,000 USD.
