Materials Team Lead

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Captures production scheduling and daily production activities to align with the master schedule and inventory requirements.
• Directs production resources through effective planning, assignment, and supervision.
• Assists employees directly and works in production as directed by the area supervisor.
• Conducts regular audits (approximately 40%) to ensure compliance and quality standards.
• Serves as the primary point of contact for employees to resolve daily issues.
• Acts as a liaison between the production area and the area supervisor.
• Tracks and reports quality and efficiency trends.
• Supports and enforces safe production practices and good housekeeping.
• Identifies employee training needs and coordinates or provides on-the-job training.
• Provides input on interviewing, hiring, performance appraisals, corrective actions, and conflict resolution.

Education And/or Experience

A high school diploma or equivalent is required. At least 5 years of related experience is preferred, along with a welding certification.

Knowledge / Skill Requirements

• Forklift license is required.
• Basic computer skills are necessary.

Physical Demands

• Regularly stands, walks, uses hands to finger, handle, or feel, talks, and hears.
• Frequently stoops, kneels, crouches, or crawls.
• Occasionally lifts and/or moves up to 50 pounds.

Work Environment

• Exposure to fumes or airborne particles.
• Occasional exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals and outside weather conditions.
• Near constant noise level due to work environment.
• Required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE).
