Materials Specialist - New Stream Enterprises

About the role
The Materials Specialist handles shipping (freight and parcel), loading and offloading trucks, processing orders for shipment, pulling orders, receiving trucks, packaging parts for shipment or stock as needed, part put-away, cycle counting, and working with scanners—all while ensuring a safe and healthy work environment.
Responsibilities
- Verify and keep records on incoming and outgoing shipments
- Accurately pull and prepare orders for shipment according to customer specifications
- Prepare items for shipment, including packaging, labeling, wrapping, and weighing pallets
- Determine method of shipment utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates
- Affix shipping labels on packed cartons
- Unpack, examine, and route incoming shipments; reject damaged items, record shortages, and rectify damages
- Meet shipping deadlines by working required hours and overtime as needed
- Ensure accuracy when counting parts, both incoming and outgoing
- Combine like parts into locations
- Operate a forklift to lift, move, or hoist shipping/receiving materials between storage and work areas
