Materials Specialist I - Distribution Services

Qualifications

• Education/Skills Required: High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Able to receive, inventory, lift, move, and distribute materials in a rapid, accurate, skillful, and safe manner to hospital customers.
• Able to operate equipment provided for the handling, processing, and transportation of material.
• Able to demonstrate basic technical and clerical skills to account for the quantity of material or supplies issued or processed.
• Able to demonstrate very good organizational and communication skills.
• Appropriate New York State driver's license to operate assigned vehicles is required.
• Three (3) years prior retail/warehouse experience preferred.
• Demonstrate competence in two (2) Distribution skills within one year of hire.
• To move to Materials Specialist II, must demonstrate qualification of four (4) Distribution skills within 36 months of accepting Materials Specialists I position.

General Summary

Under the direction of the Manager, performs various materials functions that relate to receiving, storage/warehousing, inventory control, issuing, printing, and transporting of material. Operates an automated information management system according to established procedures.

7:00am-3:30pm

Secondary Shifts

• 6:00am-2:30pm
• 6:30am-3:00pm
• 8:00am-4:30pm
• 9:00am-5:30pm
