About the role

The materials planner works cross-functionally with procurement, production, supply chain team members, and other internal teams to ensure the right raw material supply plans are in place and executed as planned. This role requires a detail-oriented, analytical, and proactive professional who can help drive decisions to improve key performance indicators (KPIs). This role will report to the Material Planning Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure current business is delivered to customers on time.
  • Monitor stock positions, safety stock levels, and expiration risks for raw materials and finished goods.
  • Set safety stock levels.
  • Work with Procurement to proactively identify and communicate potential risk materials, define recovery plans, and drive action to resolve.
  • Partner with demand planning to deliver new business.
  • Identify potential raw material issues based on new and updated demand forecasts.
  • Define actions to mitigate risk and drive actions (including with partner functions) to manage.
  • Partner with category management for seasonal raw material supply planning.
  • Analyze, track, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as on-time delivery to customers, inventory turns, and frequent problem materials.
  • Participate in projects to improve processes, service levels, efficiency, inventory, space, and cost.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in operations, business administration (operations focused), supply chain, or similar degree is required.
  • Experience working within ERP systems is preferred, particularly SAP knowledge.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to translate data to drive decisions.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work cross-functionally.
  • Demonstrated ability to use Excel to organize, analyze, and interpret large datasets, and identify trends to support operational decision-making.

Schedule

The opportunity will be based on-site in Sharonville, OH with the opportunity to move to hybrid (4 days in the office) once training is complete (potentially after 1 year).
