Materials Planner
About the role

Responsibilities
- Procures ingredients and packaging based on specifications and production schedules
- Issues purchase orders, processes invoicing, and works with accounts payable on payments for materials
- Maintains supplier relationships, addresses quality issues, and secures credit as needed
- Maintains SAP Material Masters, pricing, vendors, and updates item masters for new items
- Coordinates with transportation and warehousing on incoming deliveries, tracks each purchase order, and coordinates with transportation to ensure timely delivery and cost savings
- Manages significant inventory and interacts with corporate vendors, plant personnel, and service providers
- Develops material strategies to prevent stockouts, optimize freight expenses, and hedge against supply and demand variability
- Coordinates key material testing plans with R&D, QA, Procurement, and Operations to support business growth and continuous improvement
- Ensures compliance with company mission, values, code of ethics, policies, and standards of conduct
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree
- 3-5 years of experience with purchasing/procurement functions
- Strong analytical skills and ability to form solutions from data
- Experience interacting with vendors and internal partners
- Excellent communication skills
- Knowledge of procurement and materials management practices and principles
Qualifications
- Ability to manage significant inventory and budgets
- Experience managing supplier relationships and resolving quality issues
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments

Benefits
The company offers a competitive Total Rewards package, including comprehensive health benefits, time off programs, and retirement and financial offerings. Eligibility for a 5% annual incentive bonus based on organizational performance is also available.
Pay
The base salary range for this position is $66,000 to $99,000 annually, with a potential for a 5% annual incentive bonus. Starting pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.
