Duties

  • Serves as the direct interface between Crest and the supplier base and manages the day-to-day relationships with assigned suppliers.
  • Provides support to suppliers in the areas of supplier development, risk assessment and cost reduction initiatives.
  • Must be self-directed and dependable in achieving daily activities and must also be able to function as a member of a team, in a team environment.
  • Ability to work under pressure, in a fast-paced continuous improvement environment, is paramount.
  • As position frequently accesses confidential company information; this position must maintain the strictest confidence when accessing or disseminating company information.
  • Promotes a safe and quality conscious work environment for co-workers.
  • Supports Crest continuous improvement efforts.
  • Proactively plans for and facilitates periodic inventories and reconciles discrepancies per required timelines.
  • Makes purchases for raw materials and supplies to meet production schedules.
  • Maintains good inventory practices for J.I.T.
  • Develop good supplier forecasts.
  • Maintain supplier sourcing files and data base to execute MRP in purchasing material.
  • Works with suppliers to meet quality, delivery, service, and support at a reasonable cost.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Education & Work Experience

    • A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management or related field is preferred but not required.
    • Commensurate experience may be considered if applicable.
    • Practitioner of Lean Manufacturing and J.I.T. is a plus.
    • Ability to identify key purchasing related issues, and then apply problem solving skills to creatively resolve complex procurement related issues is required.
    • Must have the ability to function successfully with considerable latitude and require technical guidance only on unusually complex problems or issues.
    • Position requires analytical thinking and willingness to take on responsibility and challenges.
    • Effective communication, presentation and influencing skills required.
    • Attention to detail and focus on delivering bottom line results is a must.
    • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, with emphasis on Excel.
    • Epicor experience is preferred.
    • Must be able to work long hours to meet critical deadlines and obligations.
    • Able to work in a participative management environment and maintain a drive for accomplishment of responsibilities is required.

    Environmental Conditions

    • Works in both office and plant environment.
    • Office environment has controlled temperature, humidity and noise levels.
    • Plant environment varies with outside temperature and noise levels vary in different production areas.
    • Effective near vision or near vision accommodation is required.
    • Talking and hearing are required.
    • Minimal bending, stooping, walking, and stair climbing are required as is lifting items of moderate weight.
    • Crest quality standards and safety rules and regulations are mandatory.

    Travel

    • Minimal travel required.
