Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Plans, organizes, directs, and controls activities related to the implementation of the corporate contracts.
• Organizes, supervises, and directs the work of storeroom and central supply personnel engaged in receiving, issuing, and delivering supplies and equipment.
• Prepares and issues purchase orders and change notices based on inventory needs after an inventory is taken.
• Reviews purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to company policy.
• Prepares and reviews contracts, bids, proposals, and vendor agreements for legal correctness, price, and acceptability of items to specifications.
• Oversees all activities related to procurement of a commodity, from intent to purchase through delivery of commodity.
• Interface with corporate purchasing on supplier problems and give feedback on supplier quality. Update corporate purchasing on new products used and specification changes.
• Work with Controller to make sure the Finance Policy 2100 is followed.
• Work with suppliers on invoice and payment issues.
• Work with employees in the Purchasing Department.
• Appraise performance, reward, and discipline employees.
• Address complaints and resolve problems.

Qualifications

• Minimum experience of 8-10 years' working Material Manager role including each of the reporting areas, Purchasing, Inventory Control, Production Planning, and Shipping and Receiving.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office to include Word and Excel.
• Understanding of supply chain and inventory management systems.
• Understanding of forecasting and budgeting.
• Must be able to meet deadlines, multi-task and work under pressure.
• Prior experience utilizing an ERP system and knowledge of the Navision ERP system is a plus.

Education and/or Experience

A Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university and three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
