How you will make an Impact (Job Summary)

SPX is a diverse team of unique individuals who all make an impact. As a Materials Coordinator, you will be responsible for making sure that a material plan is developed and executed to support production schedules, maintain certain inventories, and production schedules are updated to reflect current customer demand. The incumbent will lead other material handlers and fill in as needed for the Material Supervisor.

What you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities)

• Inventory and Material Management
• Place purchase orders in the Demand Planning System (SAP) and coordinate shipping and receiving activities.
• Drive inventory accuracy through cycle counts and monitor material flow through production.
• Direct Material Handler activities as needed to ensure smooth operations.
• Production Support and Scheduling
• Maintain the production schedule to ensure timely workflow.
• Aid with other duties as assigned to support overall production and logistics efficiency.

What we are looking for (Required/Ideal Experience, Skills, Education)

• Required Experience & Skills
• 5-7 years of relative work experience
• Strong communication and computer skills
• Ideal Experience & Skills
• Previous experience with inventory management practices and procedures
• Ability to direct hourly employees in their daily activities and establish priorities
• Previous experience with SAP or other MRP systems
• Education & Certifications
• High school diploma or GED required
• 5-7 years of relative experience or a college degree in a related field

Travel & Working Environment

• Onsite – manufacturing plant environment, with potential exposure to all types of weather, including excessive heat, excessive cold, and excessive noise
• Lifting up to 50 pounds; 50+ pounds with assistance
• Sitting, standing, walking, bending, grasping, pushing, pulling, crawling, climbing, twisting, reaching, working at heights, and using a ladder as required
• Ability to use both hands overhead
• Perform repetitive motions
