CPP provides customers with a “total solution” source, taking them from concept to finished product.

Responsibilities

  • Perform chemical analysis, tests, and investigations on metal samples, alloys, or other process materials for product certification, metallurgical control, developing new or improved grades and types of alloys, or production methods.
  • Prepare samples for chemical analysis and other tests.
  • Operate all lab instrumentation.
  • Produce product certifications and perform alloy identification of samples using lab equipment.
  • Recognize results that fall outside of allowable specification ranges.
  • Troubleshoot and identify causes of equipment malfunctions; repair when possible.
  • Manage and maintain all data, forms, reports, testing, and communications as directed by work instructions.
  • Aid in the creation and maintenance of procedures that meet requirements of NADCAP, AS9100, ISO17025, and other OEM accreditations.
  • Maintain test samples and record keeping for all master heats of alloy.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, customer specifications, industry standards, quality control documents, and work instructions.
  • Participate in and perform round robin testing both internal and external.
  • Maintain the testing equipment used in the lab.
  • Perform report-writing duties for issuing to customers (e.g., alloy qualifications).
  • Adhere to all safety policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Work additional hours as needed, including evenings and weekends.
  • Perform various other duties as assigned by supervision.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a high school diploma with a strong mathematical and chemical background; AS in Material Science or Chemistry preferred.
  • Familiarity with the casting industry and related materials lab processes/equipment is desirable.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, and customers.
  • Proficiency in mathematical concepts such as probability, statistical inference, geometry, and trigonometry, and ability to apply them to practical situations.
  • Knowledge of database software, internet software, manufacturing software, project management software, spreadsheet software, and word processing software.

Pay

$25.09 per hour (evaluated based on candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities).

Schedule

Full-time position. Ability to work additional hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.

This position is located at the Chittenango facility. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on a permanent and consistent basis without company sponsorship. This role requires access to information subject to ITAR; applicants must be U.S. persons (U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident, Political Asylee, or Refugee).
