ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare metallographic specimens in support of production, manufacturing, and field components.
- Operate basic Lab equipment: Polishing machines, hardness testers, cutoff wheels, mounting press etc.
- Review samples via light microscope.
- Evaluate samples and generate reports based on acceptance criteria from provided specifications.
- Maintain awareness of safe working conditions and practice safe work habits in all activities maintaining environmental health and safety standards.
- Performs chemical etching of metallurgical specimens, maintain inventory of chemicals, and Hazardous waste disposal and procedures.
- Performs general maintenance on lab equipment.
- Work across departments, businesses, internally, and with customers and suppliers.
- Supports Manufacturing Engineering, Developmental Engineering
- Other duties, as assigned
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Education & Training: High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Must complete EHS assigned regulatory training for work area as described by PSM’s EHS Training Matrix
- Skills/Experience: Ability to use various lab test equipment and follow procedures. Previous laboratory experience is preferred. Demonstrated ability to collaborate with co-workers, desire, and ability to work as a team member is essential. Mechanical aptitude or industry experience are preferred. Coachable and focused on personal development. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
