About the role
This position involves inspecting and handling property, ensuring compliance with regulations and safety standards.Responsibilities
- Compares data against property to ensure correct information.
- Visually inspects usable property for condition and reports unacceptable items.
- Determines condition and special handling requirements and assigns classification instructions.
- Verifies demilitarization codes and segregates property requiring special handling.
- Ensures proper certification is attached to turn-in documents.
- Performs daily inspections and maintenance.
- Handles hazardous property according to safety protocols.
- Operates forklifts and related equipment for material handling.
Requirements
- Current permanent DLA employees.
- Veterans eligibilities including 30% or more disabled veterans, VEOA, and eligible veterans.
- Military spouse preference, retained grade preference, and military reserve technician eligibility.
Qualifications
- Rated in accordance with the Office of Personnel Management Qualification Standard for Trades and Labor Occupations.
- Must meet screen-out elements and demonstrate relevant experience.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and handle other heavy materials.
- Must be physically capable of performing tasks in various conditions, including inside and outside warehouses and handling hazardous materials.

- Physical stamina and strength for handling property.
