Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Receive incoming materials, equipment, tools, and supplies.
- Verify quantities and materials against purchase orders, packing slips, and shipping documents.
- Inspect deliveries for damage, shortages, or discrepancies.
- Accurately document received materials and communicate issues to Purchasing, Production, or QA/QC personnel.
- Label and organize incoming inventory.
- Safely move materials throughout the facility using forklifts, pallet jacks, telehandlers, and other material handling equipment.
- Transport raw materials, fabricated components, precast products, detention equipment, and finished assemblies.
- Load and unload trucks, trailers, containers, and flatbeds.
- Assist with movement of oversized or heavy materials.
- Ensure materials are properly secured and protected during transport and storage.
- Stage materials and components for fabrication, welding, assembly, paint, concrete, and shipping departments.
- Deliver materials to production workstations as required.
- Maintain material availability to support production schedules.
- Return unused materials to designated inventory locations.
- Prepare outgoing shipments and verify materials prior to shipment.
- Assist with packaging, crating, and securing products for transport.
- Coincide loading activities with transportation providers and project teams.
- Maintain shipping and receiving documentation.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Experience: Minimum 1-3 years of warehouse, manufacturing, logistics, construction, or material handling experience preferred. Previous forklift operating experience required. Experience working in steel fabrication, precast concrete, modular construction, manufacturing, or industrial environments preferred.
- Knowledge & Skills: Ability to safely operate forklifts and material handling equipment. Basic understanding of warehouse operations and inventory control. Ability to read shipping documents, packing slips, and purchase orders. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Basic computer skills for inventory tracking and documentation.
- Preferred Certifications: Current Forklift Certification, OSHA 10-Hour Construction or General Industry, Telehandler Certification, Overhead Crane Certification, Rigging and Signal Person Training.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and heavier materials with assistance or equipment. Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and work on uneven surfaces throughout the workday. Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. Ability to safely operate material handling equipment for extended periods. Ability to wear required PPE including hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, high-visibility clothing, and safety footwear.
