About the role
Edwards AFB is seeking a Materials Coordinator (IEP) to review shipping manifests, purchase orders, and DOD documentation to ensure proper receipt. This position reports to the Project Manager.
Responsibilities
- Review shipping manifests, purchase orders, and DOD documentation to ensure proper receipt.
- Document over, short, and damaged material and process frustrated receipts.
- Maintain, review, and analyze manual and computerized production, inventory, employee, and logistics records, reports, and listings; initiate appropriate actions and recommend improvements based on data trends.
- Move, stage, and transport materials between departments or designated areas using hand trucks, industrial trucks, vehicles, or other material handling equipment as required.
- Examine delivered materials to verify type and ensure specifications are met.
- Coordinate and expedite the flow of material, parts, and assemblies within or between departments in accordance with production and shipping schedules, or department supervisors' priorities.
- Requisition material and establish delivery sequences to departments according to job order priorities and anticipated material availability.
- Validate, monitor, and coordinate the status of parts ordered and received, including due-in-from-maintenance (DIFM) assets.
- Process property turn-ins and coordinate vehicle scheduling, dispatch, packing, and delivery activities in accordance with established procedures and work schedules.
- Identify, stage, and handle hazardous materials in accordance with applicable safety requirements, procedures, and directives.
- May lead, guide, train, and evaluate assigned personnel, customers, or coworkers as needed, including providing proficiency training and supporting performance evaluation activities.
- Perform routine duties with limited supervision and receive direction from supervisors, leads, or designated officials for non-routine assignments; serve as a first-level supervisor when assigned.
- Conduct random quality control reviews and perform Chief Inspector duties as assigned to support compliance with applicable warehousing directives and program requirements.
Requirements
- Associates Degree in Business/Logistics or a related field required, or the equivalent combination of formal training and related work experience.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience preferred.
- Weapons qualification for support requirements to access the weapons vault.
Skills and Abilities
- Proficiency with word-processing and integrated software applications.
- Ability to use applicable hardware, software, and material handling equipment to support warehouse, logistics, reporting, and material movement functions.
- Fully knowledgeable in all phases of receiving, storing, and shipping material.
- Working knowledge of supply directives, established guidelines, process requirements, and technical supply management practices.
- Ability to support multiple areas of supply, inventory, and warehouse management beyond a primary assigned function.
- Ability to assist and communicate with others as needed and establish effective working relationships.
- Strong analytical skills, including the ability to define problems, gather and evaluate data, establish facts, and recommend appropriate actions.
- Ability to understand organizational requirements and support standardized technical supply operations within defined scope and complexity.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage routine work accurately and efficiently.
- Ability to communicate effectively with CORs regarding Materiel Management functions of the PWS.
Other Requirements
- Ability to safely lift and carry at least 40 pounds.
- Ability to maintain clean, safe, and orderly work areas.
- Ability to pass criminal, financial, drug, and driving screening.
- Ability to work outside in inclement weather as needed and be exposed to various dirt, debris, and odors.
- Ability to be insured as an authorized driver for the Company.
- Possess a valid driver’s license and maintain good driving record.
- Must qualify for and maintain security clearance and base access to assigned site(s).
