Materials Coordinator (Customer Service)

About the role
This position is primarily responsible for materials planning in a manufacturing setting. Duties include gathering, recording, and analysis of customer requirements and forecast information, maintaining and improving customer contacts, developing and coordinating production plans, and creating and maintaining bills of lading and customer-required documentation.
Responsibilities
- Review and monitor all customer-required communication related to Materials, Planning, and Logistics procedures.
- Ensure all customer-related shipping communication is completed daily, including ASNs and container information.
- Follow customer-dictated order fulfillment procedures.
- Develop daily shipping plans based on customer release and forecast information.
- Create customer-required shipping documentation.
- Establish daily production plans in accordance with Summit Polymers, Inc. established manufacturing protocols.
- Perform inventory analysis and recommend inventory adjustments.
- Maintain contact with customers and ensure timely processing of orders, shipments, and changes.
- Report customer issues to appropriate personnel and participate in resolving these issues.
- Communicate customer blanket orders, “spot buy” orders, and any other changes to customers' release requirements to the appropriate departments.
- Coordinate with Manufacturing, Quality, and Engineering teams to ensure customers' daily release requirements are achieved.
- Coordinate all new program, new part, or program launch release activities to ensure requirements are achieved.
- Maintain target inventory levels in accordance with Summit Polymers, Inc. corporate goals.
- Analyze, review, and determine appropriate patterns of production to ensure customers and plant expectations are achieved.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Business or related degree or 1 year of experience in Materials, Planning, and Logistics in a lean manufacturing environment.
- Ability to gather and analyze information and make decisions from a limited number of choices.
- Minimum score of 50 on the Wonderlic Select Assessment (Traditional Score of 20 on the cognitive portion).
- Agreement to complete all post-hire required training.
