Materials Coordinator, 2nd shift

About the role
You will maintain receiving, warehousing, and distribution of materials and equipment while ensuring cleanliness of the warehouse and proper security.
Responsibilities
- Ensure employees are trained and perform all tasks in a safe and productive manner.
- Set up the department correctly before the start of the shift and before every break; monitor for proper start-up.
- Provide training, tools, and skills for team members to perform their jobs efficiently and effectively.
- Ensure 100% completion of assignments.
- Identify root cause and implement corrective actions for identified problems.
- Monitor quality of orders to ensure compliance with established standards and product performance levels.
- Implement Lean principles.
- Fill in when team members must leave the line.
- Track production by filling out the hour-by-hour chart.
- Support good housekeeping.
- Assign work when the line is down for extended periods.
- Measure, monitor, and sustain Quality/Delivery/Cost Metrics and 5-S.
- Conduct ergonomic exercises at the start of shift.
- Watch for and identify safety and ergonomic issues; get them fixed quickly.
- Recognize exemplary performance and address poor performance issues.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Ability to create a highly effective team environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, professionalism, and a strong sense of business ethics.
- SAP experience or similar ERP experience.
- PC literacy: Windows, Word, Excel, etc.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Able to lead team problem-solving efforts.
- Must be able to interact and communicate effectively both orally and in writing with all levels of the organization.
- Must be able to perform all operations in Takt time.
- Physical requirements: standing, walking, twisting at the waist, lifting and lowering weights up to 50 pounds.
- Steel-toed footwear is required.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1-2 years' experience.
Schedule
2nd Shift: 2:00pm – 11:00pm, Monday – Friday. Need to be able to work on Saturdays and Sundays as needed.
Pay
The hourly pay for this role is $24.00/hour, plus $0.75/hour shift differential while working on 2nd shift. Opportunity for a rate increase after proficiency in certain skills and completion of training.
