Materials Controller

About the role

The purpose of this position is to identify project material demand, evaluate supply vs. demand, and initiate material requirements planning for pipe fabrication projects.

Responsibilities

• Create material requisitions for assigned projects
• Perform material take-offs from isometrics
• Analyze shortage and excess reports
• Manage material requirements for production and construction
• Support the Accounts Payable Department on billing Issues
• Oversee on-hand inventory for assigned projects
• Prepare work orders/pick tickets for production and construction
• Generate material receiving reports
• Issue materials into the system
• Create packing lists for ship-loose material and intercompany/site transfers

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Pipe fabrication experience
• Ability to read and understand descriptions and specifications in pipe and steel Isometrics and verify against material lists in the system for accuracy
• Microsoft Suite (Microsoft Excel emphasis)
• Oracle JDE experience is a plus
• Excellent written and spoken communication skills

Qualifications

Preferred: Associate or bachelor’s degree or relevant work experience

Physical Requirements

Ability to reach, stand, walk, use fingers, grasp, feel, talk, hear, see and to perform repetitive motions. Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.
