About the Role

This position is open to individuals eligible for a Training and Development assignment. Under the direction of the Materials and Stores Supervisor II, CF, the Materials and Stores Supervisor I, CF is responsible for the receiving, storing, issuing, and shipping of a large variety of clothing within a correctional facility.

Responsibilities

  • Order and inventory materials and supplies.
  • Process orders and maintain accurate records on issuance, ordering, and inventory.
  • Maintain accurate records on incarcerated individuals’ time.
  • Operate all equipment assigned to the Clothing department.
  • Supervise and train incarcerated individuals in their work, including submitting periodic written appraisals of their conduct and productivity.
  • Maintain order and supervise the conduct of incarcerated individuals in the Clothing Rooms.
  • Prevent escapes and injuries, and maintain security by inspecting premises and searching incarcerated individuals for contraband such as weapons and illegal drugs.
  • Perform duties across one to five different clothing rooms as needed.

Working Conditions

High Desert State Prison is located approximately eight miles east of Susanville, CA, or about a 1.5-hour drive northwest of Reno, Nevada.

  • Possession of minimum qualifications will be verified prior to interview and/or appointment. If meeting qualifications through education, include unofficial transcripts/diploma for verification. Official transcripts may be required upon appointment.
  • Candidates with foreign degrees/transcripts must obtain and submit verification of U.S. course/degree equivalency from a NACES-approved service.
  • New hires must submit to a background investigation, including Live Scan Fingerprinting, and a Tuberculosis test/evaluation prior to appointment, with annual testing thereafter.

Pay

$4,214.00 - $5,518.00 per month. New to State candidates will be hired into the minimum salary of the classification or minimum of alternate range when applicable.
