About the role

The Material Technology team supplies Samsung FAB with the highest quality raw materials and analysis globally through effective supplier management and material development. This role supports Fab Operations by ensuring incoming material quality and collaborating with suppliers to meet SAS requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Interact with and manage multiple material suppliers for quality, supply chain management, technical support, improvements, root cause investigations, and corrective/preventive action implementation.
  • Develop, understand, and document a cradle-to-grave understanding of materials, including their manufacturing processes and final use in FAB.
  • Proactively identify and implement material quality improvements in collaboration with suppliers, counterparts in Korea, and the SAS FAB engineering team.
  • Drive material-related FAB investigations, providing insights into raw material manufacturing and its interaction with FAB processing.
  • Lead material issue resolution through SPC, data analysis, 8D development, and corrective actions.
  • Work with suppliers to identify and implement future improvements (roadmap) to stay ahead of quality needs for 1x nodes and beyond.
  • Qualify new materials and changes, including supplier process change notifications, project planning, execution of qualification, and data analysis.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Material Science, or an equivalent discipline.
  • More than 3 years of experience preferred.
  • Experience in fab manufacturing unit part (UP) process group.
  • Previous experience with semiconductor materials preferred.
  • Experience with global supply chains and multi-site quality process standardization is a plus.

Pay

The current base salary range for this role is between $76,000 and $145,000. Individual base pay rates depend on factors including duties, work location, education, skills, qualifications, and experience. Total compensation includes a competitive benefits package and may include participation in company incentive compensation programs based on organizational and individual performance.

Schedule

All positions at Samsung Austin Semiconductor are full-time on-site.
