About the Role

As a Material Program Manager, you will manage all material activities necessary to meet program requirements and ensure a strong link between various materials functions, including Sourcing, Program Management, Engineering, Operations Program Management, and Planning. The MPM will be responsible for the development, coordination, and execution of program material strategies and revenue objectives. You will lead the front end of business planning activities, including early material management involvement and early supplier involvement, partnering with program, engineering, and operations leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute material program plans, subcontract management plans (together with Supply Chain).
  • Balance strategic thinking with tactical application of strategies to programs.
  • Work closely with Engineering, Quality, and Operations to create a schedule for projects based on Material Requirements Planning (MRP).
  • Develop and lead Planning-related proposal activities including task descriptions and bases of estimates.
  • Develop accurate Bill of Materials (BOMs) from the technical baseline within a few days of proposal kickoff, control changes in the BOM during the proposal process, and promptly flow any changes to material estimating to develop a strategy for representative costs.
  • Partner with Product Management to navigate obsolescence, long lead, and last-time buy material situations to ensure program schedules are met.
  • Actively engage in proposals.
  • Manage material actual cost vs. should cost.
  • Execute and/or coordinate make/buy/where process.
  • Develop and execute risk/opportunity plans to meet program objectives.
  • Collaborate with supply chain functions to drive execution and support as needed.
  • Develop and monitor performance metrics and proactively act to address program and functional issues.
  • Utilize Earned Value Management and Financial management skills, including Material EACs and Material Forecasting.

Requirements

  • Experience working in the DoD Aerospace & Defense industry.
  • Ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

  • ASCM CPIM or CSCP certification.
  • Strong Planning experience.
  • Proficient in ERP/MRP business systems.
  • Microsoft Project experience.
  • Experience managing a budget.
  • Experience providing inputs into or reviewing EACs.
  • Experience collaborating with the Subcontract Administrator to review statements of work (SOW) that are complete and conform to program requirements.
  • Experience in electronics/aerospace hardware applications as well as knowledge of operational and manufacturing processes (assembly, integration, and test).
  • Experience converting business area and customer requirements into executable strategies.
  • Experience leading in an Integrated Program Team (IPT) environment.

Pay

The expected compensation range for this role is $121,888.00 - $152,360.00. Ultra Maritime considers multiple factors when determining final compensation, including the scope and responsibilities of the role, a candidate’s relevant experience and education, certifications and training, as well as current business and market conditions.
